Picture This Photography Education
Each year I try and attend some sort of continuing education on a national level. This serves many purposes: such as learning from master photographers, current industry trends, new products, seeing large trades how, and just meeting and mixing with peers.
This year was a bit special as I was inspired to take a journey and attend two that were back to back on the southern coast. (Florida and Nashville!) So, I did just that and made a Southern Road trip out of it. I had a few special people along the way so my oldest daughter and I made a “loop of FUN” out of this education adventure!
To condense the story: It was 21 days, 1500 air miles, and almost 3K driving miles. We had sunshine in Florida, Snow in 5 states we were in, Awesome relatives and Friends along the way. We visited two college universities, countless museums, Virginia History (and a really KOOL Mote!) ,and had a very powerful day seeing several Civil Rights Movement Monuments in Alabama.
Then there was education: I attended SYNC, a national conference that specializes in High School Seniors and Family Business. This was the first stop of the trip and was fantastic. I meant many wonderful photographer friends, listened to hours of discussions about creating and how to effectively run business and . Of course it was 4 days of learning broken down into one sentence. But, i am excited to implement some of the things I learned.
