Drake Edwards Memorial Portrait Scholarship:  This scholarship is being awarded based on character. 

Drake Edwards LOVED LIFE and his energy was infectious. Drake left us too soon, at age 20, on December 23, 2012. Drake was a friend, client, and Rep for Picture this Photography.  His  zest for life, character, and passions have inspired Picture This Photography to honor him, his spirit of love and giving by creating a portrait scholarship beginning with the Class of 2014.

Drake lived a life of ACTION through his involvement in snowboarding, leadership, skateboarding, church, camp counseling, music, and student body. He always led with joy.  His love of guitar, banjo, song and rap all were just some of the ways he expressed himself.

Drake defined the words kindness, heart, compassion, and fun.

The goal of this scholarship is to share love, through my art, much like Drake chose to do on a daily basis.  It is a way to honor Drake and to share Picture This Photography’s gifts with a deserving person; someone that goes beyond to help others.

The winner of the portrait scholarship will be chosen by a panel with members from Picture This Photography, a community member and the Edwards family.

Application:

Drake Edwards embodies Picture This Photography’s mission statement of community and giving. It is therefore fitting that the Drake  Edwards Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to the applicant who best demonstrates efforts to improve the lives of others by their version of joy, love, laughter, & community.  Submissions must include the online application with essay.  You can use photo’s, video, and/or any  additional media that conveys your impact on their community.    This is pure Drake Style!  This scholarship is available to juniors in the class of 2014, and is open to high school students of West Linn and surrounding communities.  You do not need to personally know Drake, but must embody his spirit of giving.  

Application Deadline is June 1st, 2013 with award  recipient will be notified before July 1st, 2013.

Awarding of Portrait Scholarship.

The Drake Edwards Memorial Portrait Scholarship consists of a custom senior portrait session and Gift Prints valued at more than $750.  The scholarship will be awarded by a panel-with involvement from Picture This Photography, a community member, and The Edwards’s Family.
