Kathleen
Grace, Beauty, Dignity, Kindness, Love, and Faith. These are the words that describe our friend Kathleen.
It is with great sadness I share these images. A dear friend Kathleen lost her battle with Cancer yesterday. The images were created a few months ago with a volunteer photography I do for The FILM project. Kathleen did not want the images on social media, but said it was just fine to use on my web site… so, today, I feel the need to share Kathleen with all of her friends.
The images are reflective of their LOVE, her love for her sweet husband, and her amazing 4 children. (AND YES, the new son in law!)
The love this family has is contagious. They have all been a part of my life for almost 20 years. I am blessed to have them in my life and to have called Kathleen a friend. She is missed, she is loved, she is adored. I told Kathleen she was my MOM MENTOR in life… the way she lived with such sweetness, kindness, grace, and faith. Kathleen YOU ROCK girlfriend and you are always be in my heart.

Thank you so much for these pictures. I am David’s youngest sister, and, it’s seldom that I see such a genuine, truly heartfelt smile. He deals with a lot of stress it seems, but when it comes to Kathleen he’s a marshmallow. Your pictures capture this. This is a beautiful family, and Kathleen has always been that shining light with a smile, kindness and grace. Your words are spot on.

Thank you so very much for such sweet and kind words. It’s so easy for us to be generous with words with it comes to Kathleen. She is so very special to everyone she has touched. We are so very blessed to have had her in our lives and will continue to carry her with us. And, you are right, Dave is a Kathleen marshmallow… i adore these two fine people! It was such a special time capturing their love and the love of the family, thank you again for the kind words. It was one of the most difficult sessions I have had the opportunity to create, because of the situation. But as usual Bernert Style… they rocked it, we had a blast, and created some lasting images for the family!

I WEEP looking at these photos and the stories they share. We have known the wonderful amazing Bernert families for years. I have seen Kathy for years at cross country races as we both cheered on our children, ranging in ages. . . my oldest daughter Rachel was on the team with the sweet Sarah and she was the same year in school as Michael. And, the last couple of years, we have seen the Bernerts at cross country races for our twins, 16, and Sydney. All I can think of is what an amazing sweet person Kathy is. She helped me gather photos from her family for my West Linn history book–she was always trying to help. The words you use are indeed true: Grace, Beauty, Dignity, Kindness, Love, and Faith. Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos.
