We wanted to spread the word about two donations we are making in honor of the recent national tragedies. I felt it was important to not only honor a family, but an educator. Having a father as an elementary principal and from our kids outstanding education at West Linn, it is my way of reaching out and spreading some love to my own community.
Please read the post below and NOMINATE a family and a teacher (or staff member)… nominations taken until December 31st. Thank you and Happy Holidays, Nancy.
The Olivia Act was named for a child who lost her life in Newtown, Conn. and was started by a fellow photographer. She heard the story of the little girl who had just had family portraits taken before this tragedy, portraits that are now priceless. It moved her to give a family the gift of images to cherish. She is giving away a 30 minute family session and has challenged other photographers to do the same.
So many people just don’t have the opportunity or the means to have professional photos taken. With life’s busy pace, we often forget to capture the ‘now’.
PTP expanded the donation and to Two Sessions: I will be taking nominations for a 1. FAMILY who you think would appreciate this gift. 2. A TEACHER (to honor the educators who lost their lives protecting the children)
I am asking you to PLEASE NOMINATE TWO deserving families. I will take nominations until December 31st.
Please EMAIL the name, contact information and a brief summary of why you chose them. My email is ptpnancy@comcast.net Please put “OLIVIA ACT” in the subject line. Once selected, I will notify the family personally. The sessions will take place after the New Year (Jan/Feb) and will include a session, a print collection, & social media images.
This a personal gift to the family so they may have beautiful memories to treasure. Thank you. ♥
* PTP does work for several photography volunteer organizations, and this is another opportunity that could not be passed. I am very proud that our own community rallied and supported the Forsyth Family in the recent tragedy. A portrait donation was made through the community basket and the donation will be matched (x2) with the Olivia Act.
I am also encouraging other photographers in my own community to join, donate a gift *however you choose, to give back to a family in our community!
