I’m so glad you’re here. At Nancy Steele Portraiture, my passion is creating images that feel authentic, elegant, and uniquely yours. Every session is a collaboration, designed to capture the essence of who you are—your beauty, your story, your legacy.
My goal is simple: to create portraits that are as distinctive as the people in them. With a clean, artistic style and an eye for timeless detail, I strive to turn life’s most meaningful moments into works of art.
This business is built on values I hold dear—family, community, and the belief that photographs are the foundation of your legacy. I can’t wait to meet you, learn your story, and create something extraordinary for you and those you love.
I have a philanthropic, entrepreneur spirit. Honored to be awarded the Jerry Auker Community Service award in 2015 & 2018 from OPPA for creating & developing the Portrait Food Raiser in 2012.
Committed to Excellence in Photography
Education is at the heart of my craft. After many years in the business, I challenged myself to become a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP)—a rigorous process that pushed me to grow and refine my skills.
In 2018, I earned the Associate Fellow of Photography (A.F.P.) designation with OPPA, and I’m currently on the path toward achieving my Master Photographer degree with PPA. This journey involves print competitions and ongoing education to ensure that every client receives the very best in artistry and expertise.
One of the most humbling moments of my career came in 2015 when I was honored with 3rd Place Nationally in the High School Senior category at PPA’s prestigious Grand Imaging Awards. Achievements like these inspire me to keep learning, growing, and delivering portraits that are truly exceptional.
As a woman-owned business, I proudly stand for equality, inclusion, and respect for all. I support Black Lives Matter, the LGBTQ+ community, and I do not tolerate discrimination based on race, gender, or identity.
My work is rooted in love, compassion, and kindness, and I strive to reflect these values in every portrait I create. I believe that our differences—race, culture, gender—are what make the world vibrant and beautiful.
I am committed to anti-racism and to fostering diversity, inclusion, and equality within my studio and beyond. I pledge to remain aware, be an active ally, and stand against white supremacy and exclusion in all forms.
Outside of photography, I’m a wife of over thirty years to my college sweetheart, Jason, and mom to two amazing grown daughters (and a few furry family members!). I love gardening, baking, coffee dates, exploring new places, and discovering great food.
I’m also a passionate TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) advocate, a cause deeply personal to me after both of our daughters experienced TBIs in recent years. If this is close to your heart too, I encourage you to visit Love Your Brain, a wonderful resource for education and support. Our daughters have started a non profit urban farm, check it out: https://www.resilientseedhealingfarm.com/
Before launching Nancy Steele Portraiture, I ran my first business, Picture This Photography. With two decades behind the lens, every experience has shaped the work I do today: crafting portraits that honor your life and your legacy.
I can’t wait to meet you and create something truly special for you and your family.
